Ashby Goldstein
Director of Bands

Ashby Goldstein is the Director of Bands at Sebastian River High School where he also serves as the Fine Arts Department Chair and the Indian River County Music Coordinator. Under his direction, the Wind Symphony performed at the 2016 Western International Band Clinic in Seattle, WA and the marching band has been awarded six grand championships at various competitions in Florida and Georgia. Mr. Goldstein was previously the Director of Bands at Key West High School and Gifford Middle School. Under his direction, the Gifford bands performed at the Florida Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference, the University of Georgia's Middle School Band Festival, the Music for All National Middle School Music Festival and the National Band Association/College Band Directors National Association Southern Division Conference.

While at Key West High School, the band was awarded Grand Champions of the Crown Jewel Marching Band Competition, performed in London, England and Rome, Italy, and earned the school's first Otto J. Kraushaar Award in over 30 years. Mr. Goldstein also served as the Monroe County Music Teacher Leader during his tenure in Key West.

Mr. Goldstein has been awarded two Citations of Excellence from the National Band Association and is a former member of the Florida Music Educators Association Emerging Leaders Committee. He was selected as the 2014 Gifford Middle School Teacher of the Year and was a Finalist for the School District of Indian River County's Teacher of the Year. Mr. Goldstein is an active Florida Bandmasters Association adjudicator for both concert and marching band Music Performance Assessments and has conducted honor bands in both Florida and Georgia.

Mr. Goldstein graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Florida State University College of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education. He also holds a Master's degree in Instrumental Conducting from Southern Oregon University.

Mr. Goldstein resides in Sebastian with his wife Brandi, and four young children, Rebecca, Jacob, Caroline, and Nathan.

Chase Jones
Associate Director of Bands

Chase Jones is in his fourth year as the Associate Director of Bands at Sebastian River High School. Mr. Jones received both a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Arkansas.

During his time as an undergraduate student, Mr. Jones performed with the University of Arkansas Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, UA Saxophone Ensemble and spent five years in the Razorback Marching Band and Hogwild Pep Band. Mr. Jones was the head drum major for the RMB for three years and was a conductor for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps during their 2009 season. He has also been a drum major instructor at the Steven Moss Academy in Texas since 2007.

While pursuing his Master's degree at UA, he arranged music for the Razorback Marching Band and Hogwild Pep Band, wrote drill for the RMB, and worked with many of the university symphonic bands, including the UA Concert Band where he was one of the primary conductors. He has also been a conducting participant in both the University of Texas Art of Band Conducting Workshop and the Michigan State University Conducting Symposium.

Doug Moser
Associate Director of Bands/Director of Percussion

Mr. Moser earned a Bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, and a Master's Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He is the former director of the University of South Florida Herd of Thunder Drumline (2006-2014) and created the WGI championship finalist Brahma Percussion Ensemble independent indoor drumline (2007-2010). Mr. Moser previously served as Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Percussion at P.R. Wharton High School in Tampa, FL (2008-2016). At Wharton, his percussion students were honored to perform at the 2011 and 2013 Florida Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference, the 2012 Florida Day of Percussion, several USF Marimba Festivals, and earned the 2014 and 2015 FMBC Championships Class 3A Best Percussion Award, as well as the 2016 FFCC Marching Scholastic A Silver Medal.

Mr. Moser is co-author of Masterworks for Mallets, a collection of fifty classic pieces transcribed and arranged for keyboard percussion. He appears on the McCormick Percussion Group recordings Culture Samples: Concerti with Flute and Percussion Orchestra on Capstone Records, and Music for Keyboard Percussions on Ravello Records. Mr. Moser also served eight years as Principal Percussionist for the Florida Wind Band in Tampa, a position he has held since its inception.

Mr. Moser holds memberships with the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Orchestra Association, the Percussive Arts Society, and is an honorary member of the Kappa Kappa Psi and Pi Kappa Lambda music societies. He keeps an active schedule as an in-demand arranger, clinician, and judge throughout Florida. His percussion students have earned positions with the Florida All-State Bands, national summer music festivals, gone on to perform with major drum corps and indoor drumlines, and have studied percussion at leading universities.
